Dr. Ioana Matei, DDS, MS, DMD

Dr. Ioana Matei, DDS, MS, DMD, is a board-certified periodontist with advanced training in periodontal therapy, implant surgery, and regenerative procedures. She completed her specialty training in Periodontics at New York University and holds advanced degrees from NYU and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Matei has pursued extensive postgraduate education in implant dentistry, bone augmentation, and sinus grafting at the University of Bern in Switzerland, and is certified in laser-assisted periodontal and peri-implant therapies (LANAP/LAPIP). She is licensed to practice in Florida, New Jersey, and New York.

Dr. Matei has held academic appointments at Columbia University (NY), and the University of Pennsylvania (PA), where she continues to serve as faculty, and is currently an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontics and a recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Educator Award for Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys exploring new cuisines, spending time outdoors, and being with her family and her dog, Yoda.
